                            Patio Accessories

Once your patio and pergola are complete, there are endless possibilities for add-ons we can build to perfectly complement your new outdoor space. We love when clients bring fun ideas to our attention so we can construct the perfect pergola roof, privacy separator, electrical hanging accessories, or whatever you have in mind!

Privacy Louvres

The image on the right shows the structure we were able to build underneath the new pergola to offer a client extra privacy. The spotted gum decking boards were installed at an angle and in conjunction with the pergola above to give this homeowner a spot for private gatherings.

Polycarbonate or Steel Roof Sheeting: Which one is right for you?

At MJ Leckie Carpentry, we keep a few key things in mind when determining which roof sheeting is right for your outdoor patio. While polycarbonate allows natural light to pass through, it is prone to hail damage, cannot hold weight to all you to walk on it, doesn’t allow for flashing on the edges, and get dirty easily – making it difficult to clean. On the other hand, steel sheeting is a heavier material that can hold weight and allows for flashing on the edges, but it doesn’t allow light to pass through and can be more robust and more expensive than polycarbonate.

Before we ever begin building, our experienced professional builders will take everything into mind when determining the proper materials for your patio, including your roof sheeting.

Hear what people are saying about our patios!

“I’ve wanted a pergola on my west facing deck for such a long time. I was so lucky to get a recommendation to contact MJ Leckie Carpentry. They were able to make suggestions for the best design to suit the size of the existing deck that backs onto the pool; lots of regulations to consider.

It was reassuring to have a professional to give good sound advice. Once we got our quote (it was within a few days) we had our pergola erected. It looks specular and has added value to the property. Can’t recommend MJ Leckie Carpentry enough for excellent workmanship and attention to detail.” – Helen & Graham Campbell of Killarney Heights
